Summer Festival 2000

Dudley Castle

It seems a long time ago now but the last summer beer festival was in 2000, held in the grounds of Dudley Castle which dates back to Norman times and is now part of Dudley Zoo.

The festival ran from Thursday 8th to Saturday 10th June and as you can see from the photos we were blessed with beautiful weather (and beautiful drinkers). A good time was had by the people that came and the staff had loads of fun too.
We had around 110 different real ales to try out, plus various ciders and wide selection of European bottled beers.
The beer of the festival was Malvern Hills Black Pear and the Midlands Mild of the Year was Church End Gravediggers.
There was also entertainment at every session ranging from rock, folk, jazz, blues, soul and Morris Dancing.
