Winter Ales Fayre 2002

As well as a huge range of great beers we were also treated to some great entertainment from acts which included Ballroom Glitz, The Ken Pye Creole Serenaders, Gentlemen Songsters, Backdoor Blues Corporation, Giggety and the Hurling Boys.

Also, there was a Breweriana Beer Memorabilia Auction on the Saturday afternoon which raised over 300 Pounds for charity.

The food on offer this year included a variation on the traditional grey peas and bacon......curried grey peas!
They seemed to go down pretty well, though some of the traditional peas were harder than usual, something to do with them being from New Zealand and not softening up as much as they should have.

Overall we coped pretty well considering it was a new bigger venue and we still had a few beers left by 11pm on the Saturday, so even the 170 people who came on the Saturday evening could still enjoy a fair range of beers.
